Hello! I'm Erika and I'm an LA local who can't get enough coffee. I'm a freelance media composer and music producer. Ask me anything about working in music/film/tv, I'd love to help you!
Music and creativity has been a major part of my life, I'm most passionate about writing original music for films and media. I love writing music that make my family proud! I equally love filming and editing content for social media and finding like-minded people to share art with. My favorite composers include Alan Menken, Henry Mancini, John Powell, and John Williams, who inspired me to pursue a career in the film industry and work with music.
I studied music business at university, as well as piano and flute performance at Saddleback Community College where I obtained an Associate in Arts in Music. I received a full-ride scholarship at IO Music Academy in Hollywood and obtained a music production certificate, as well as received a scholarship to participate in the 2024 CSU Summer Arts screen scoring intensive.
I am a CSU Fullerton graduate, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a focus on the entertainment industry in 2019. After graduation, I began working with Disney as a music intern in the music department for live-action films at the Walt Disney Studios. I have worked on a multitude of studio lots: Warner Bros, The Walt Disney Studios, Fox Studios, Sony, Paramount, CBS Studios Radford, and Chandler Valley Center Studios.
My current adventure is writing music for a 2D animated project and an upcoming podcast, as well as producing a unique tech noir short film. I can't wait to share my work! In addition, I am collaborating with The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by peer-mentoring students of the Gold Rising class of 2024. I often discuss and share how to get your foot in the door of the entertainment industry on my Instagram. I am always willing to provide guidance and mentorship to anyone looking to get their start.
On my days off, I'm either chilling at home with my cats or visiting new restaurants and coffee shops. I am a BIG foodie, so you best believe I am always trying something new and grabbing dessert around L.A.
